GotAcres.com was founded by Doug Caffey who has been engaged in the rural land business for over 40 years. During this period he has been involved in the acquisition and marketing of over 500,000 acres of land throughout the Western United States.

The current business strategy is to position GotAcres.com as a boutique online land auction firm specializing in either the lowest "per acre" prices available anywhere in the United States or other rural properties that offer uniqueness or exception potential. The goal will be to constantly maintain a select number of properties listed on the auction site that fit these criteria as opposed to the multitude of small lots in antiquated subdivisions or tax sale parcels offered by most land auction firms.
